Another Family Funny

When bathing my infant son, he pointed to something in the tub and asked, “What dat?” From his previous experiences, there were occasionally brown floating things in the water, but this was not one of those. It was a bug. I said more for myself than in response to him: “shark.” The poor kid quickly scooted to the far end of the tub. I didn’t even know he knew the word. Maybe he didn’t, but in his little mind, that thing in the tub had a name, and he was getting away from it. (Bad, bad Mama!)
